Who each tool is for
Invoice Fly is aimed at contractors and field workers who run their business from a phone and want one subscription to cover estimates, invoices, card payments, time tracking, expenses and reports.
Duebolt is aimed at the person who just needs to hand over a proper invoice, receipt or estimate today, often on a phone, without starting a trial or entering a card. It's free to use, and the optional Pro plan adds sending, tracking and reminders.

Where Duebolt is the better fit
- Cost over a year. Invoice Fly's yearly plan is $98.99, and the weekly plan adds up faster. Duebolt is free to use, and Pro costs $49 once if you want sending and tracking for good.
- No card to get started. Duebolt asks for nothing: no account, no trial, no payment method. Invoice Fly's trial needs a card on file.
- Several businesses. Invoice Fly says each business needs its own account and subscription. In Duebolt you can simply change the business details on the document.
- Receipts and proforma invoices as documents. Duebolt makes a proper numbered receipt (RCT-) and proforma (PRO-), not only invoices and estimates.
- Country rules. Tax names, registration numbers and legal lines for 24 countries, in 12 languages.
Where Invoice Fly is the better fit
Invoice Fly packs in tools Duebolt doesn't try to offer. It makes more sense if you want:
- To take card and online payments from the invoice.
- Time tracking that turns billable hours into invoice lines.
- An expense tracker, receipt scanning and business reports in the same app.
- A native mobile app with notifications, from the App Store or Google Play.
- Work order templates and a generator on their site, alongside invoices and estimates.
For a busy contractor who wants all of that in one place, a single subscription can be good value. Weigh it against how you actually get paid: if most clients already send money by Venmo, Zelle or check, the payment features may go unused.
How to switch from Invoice Fly to Duebolt
- Before your plan lapses, download PDFs of the invoices and estimates you want to keep. Invoice Fly says an expired account can still view lists but not individual documents.
- Check your last invoice number, for example INV-0314.
- In the invoice generator, open the details and enter INV-0315. Duebolt continues from there, and keeps estimates on their own EST- series.
- Add your business, logo and payment details (Venmo, Zelle, bank) once.
- Type in each client as you next bill them. Your usual items become quick-add chips after the first use.
